Beauty and The Beast Character Meet Ups at Walt Disney World
Meeting characters is perhaps one of the best parts of visiting Walt Disney World. I know this to be true because there are always HUGE lines of awe-struck littles waiting to hug their favorite characters, bored older siblings who would rather be riding Rockin’ Roller Coaster, and super hero parents trying to control their minions.
Meeting characters such as the Fab 5: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto is almost effortless. The Fab 5 are found at every park in some capacity (See the image to the right). However if you are trying to meet, well basically any other character you have to be more strategic. For example (I will go into more below) there is only ONE place where you can meet Beast.
Most characters have designated places where they do their meet ups. However sometimes there will be random character meet ups. These character experiences are not planned so you just have to be in the right place at the right time.
Today we will dive into where you can meet characters from Beauty and The Beast! The Beauty and The Beast characters that are available for pictures and autographs are: Belle, Gaston, and Beast. While you can see other characters in shows or parades they are not available for pictures or autographs.
Meeting Belle at Walt Disney World
Belle is the most available member of the Beauty and The Beast cast to meet with 4 different opportunities. Although there are 4 different chances to meet this French gal, two of them require dining reservations and one I recommend you get a FastPass+ for.
Belle likes to spend a little time with each guest so the lines tend to move a little slower, but this makes for an incredible experience.
- Magic Kingdom – Enchanted Tales with Belle: This one of a kind experience that combines storytelling with a meet-and-greet where children also get a free bookmark. Enchanted Tales with Belle has a very low capacity and like I mentioned above she likes to spend time with each guest. This means the stand by line can be lengthy. If meeting Belle is on your bucket list then get a FASTPASS+ or get there first thing in the morning right when the park opens.
- Magic Kingdom – Cinderella’s Royal Table Princess Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner): Three or four If you want to make a dining reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table you can usually find 3 or 4 princesses trotting around among the tables. Sometimes Belle is included in this all-star line up. However it IS NOT guaranteed that Belle will be there during your specific reservation. What this means for you- DO NOT promise little Sally that she will get to meet Belle at dinner (or breakfast or lunch). I promise she will never let you live it down. This is a pretty happening place at Magic Kingdom, so you need to make a reservation.
- Epcot – Belle Meet-and-Greet in the France Pavilion:
Head on over to the France Pavilion at Epcot and score a photo with Belle. This is a good chance to get her in a different outfit, as she is in her blue dress with the white apron (See picture on right). A fairly typical (but not exact) schedule for Belle to appear is: 11:00AM, 12:00, 1:00, 2:50, 3:50 & 4:50PM for 30 – 40 minutes at a time.
- Epcot – Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion(breakfast, lunch, and dinner): This is another dining opportunity with Belle. However this time she does not mingle among the guests, she typically appears for photos at the entrance of the restaurant. Again, don’t promise your little angel that any specific princesses will be there unless you want to break their little heart. However every time I have been to the Royal Banquet Hall Belle has been there.
Meeting Beast at Walt Disney World
Alright friends, I can’t lie to you. Meeting Beast is no easy task as there is only ONE definite place to get a picture with this hunk.
The only place to find Beast is at the Be Our Guest Restaurant. To make matters even harder, he is only available during dinner. After you dine on fine French cuisine you have the opportunity to meet Beast and grab a photo and autograph. My best advice is to make your reservations early so you don’t miss Beast. If you can’t seem to get in, keep trying- call them everyday. People will sometimes cancel and and openings will be available.
If you are unable to get reservations you can catch Beast in Beauty and The Beast- Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Meeting Gaston at Walt Disney World
I’m so sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the only place to catch a glimpse of the man with “Biceps to spare” is right outside his tavern. However, take my word- DO NOT MISS GASTON!
He is just as arrogant and good looking as in the film. He is elated to sign his autograph, take a photo, and even share a long winded story of himself.
He is definitely worth waiting for and you can [normally] catch him outside his tavern between the hours of 10am and 4:30pm. Let’s be real, a man with his stature and looks doesn’t spend all day outside- he will frequently take breaks. If you happen to stop by when he is not out and about ask a Cast Member when he will be back. This particular interaction may require a sense of humor. Gaston has been know to crack a few jokes every now and again. Don’t take it personal.
