Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Your Comprehensive Guide to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Disney is pretty fantastic at everything it does, however their holiday celebrations go above and beyond and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) is no exception.
As soon as Halloween ends the Christmas decor comes out and so begins a 2 month long Christmas party. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party features special holiday shows and parades, special character meet-ups, and complimentary treats!

MVMCP runs from November- December on select dates at Magic Kingdom and requires a special ticket to enter. Tickets to the Christmas party also guarantee park entry to Magic Kingdom at 4pm on the day of your scheduled MVMCP and the party doesn’t start until 7pm. That’s 3 hours of extra park fun on top of the 5 you get with the Christmas Party!

The 2016 dates are:

  • November: 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, 27, and 29
  • December: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18, and 22

Tickets for the party can be purchased directly from Disney at DisneyWorld.com or  by calling 407-WDISNEY. Keep in mind prices will change depending on the day you go as well as if you purchase in advance or not. However tickets are never more than $100 (not including tax). Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are non-refundable so keep in mind weather when choosing your party date. As a girl from south Florida I can confidently say weather in November and December is usually pretty good!

Like I mentioned earlier the party starts at 7pm and runs until midnight. However with the purchase of  your MVMCP tickets you gain entry to Magic Kingdom at 4pm on the same day. This means you can have up to 8 hours in Magic Kingdom on the night of your scheduled party! That is basically a full day! The best party is; if you don’t go to another park this day, you can make FastPass+ reservations ahead of time for 4-7 p.m. FastPass+ isn’t available once the party officially begins at 7.

If there was ever a time to “Do Disney In A Day” I recommend it during the Christmas Party. Although the parks may be busier during that 4-7 time slot there are only a select number of tickets sold for each party and a lot of your favorite attractions are open throughout the night.

  • A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show
  • VoicePlay
  • Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
  • Character Dance Parties
  • Holiday Wishes Fireworks
  • Snow on Main Street

That’s a lot of information to take in at one time. To sum it all up (and hopefully help you make a decision on if you should go or not) Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers free treats, unique parades, shows and opportunities to meet rare characters in their holiday attire. You will be out super late and kiddos may get restless, but wait times for rides and [some] characters will be decreased. My personal opinion is that it is worth the money and time at least once,  especially if you have kids. Rest them up so that at 4pm they are ready to go for the next 8 hours. There is no value that can be put on family memories.
